How To Crochet A Circle Left Handed
This video demonstrates how to make a circle for left-handed crocheters. So if you're left-handed, don't give up. You can learn to crochet beautiful circles with this guide.
I'm going to show you how to crochet a simple circle, for left-handed crocheters. You can use the circle to create a round cushion cover or anything you want to use it for. To crochet a circle, you'll need a hook and yarn, and also a stitch marker.
I'm just using a safety pin here, but you can use a paper clip. Be sure not to use knitting stitch markers which are closed circles because you'll have to cut them out afterwards. You'll need an open stitch marker.
We're going to begin with a slipknot like always. Put that on your hook and tighten up. We're going to begin by crocheting two chains.
So, we just pull the yarn through the loop twice. Then I like to use the bump on the back. We're going into the second chain, the one furthest away, and we're going to make six, double crochets.
So, I've just inserted into that further away chain and I'm going to make a double crochet. I'm going to keep going into that same space and make six double crochets and it will naturally turn around and make a circle. When you're working in around like this, you can join at the end by using a slipstitch into the first stitch you made or you can just carry on crocheting without making a join.
For this first round, we're going to double the amount of stitches we have. We're going to crochet into the first stitch we made and make a double crochet. Before we do anything else, we're going to mark that stitch to keep track of where our round begins.
Now, I need to make another stitch into that same one. I'm going to put two stitches into each of my six, going all the way around the circle. Now, I need to make sure I've done twelve so I've done it properly.
The next round, I'll want to double every other stitch, so instead of putting two into each one, I'll put two into every other stitch. I make my first stitch so I'll mark it again. We're doubling every other stitch in this round.
If you're following a pattern, it'll give you a number to count to see if you've done it properly. This is supposed to be eighteen, so that's correct. On the following row, we'll put one in the first one, one in the second one, and two in the third one, all the way around, which is twenty-four.
On the fourth one, you'd put one in the first one, two in the second one, one in the third one, and two in the fourth one. As long as you maintain the increase, you'll get a flat disc every time. That's how you make a circle for left-handed crocheters.
