You will Need

  • yarn
  • crochet hook

Method

Start by making a foundation chain, ending with a turning chain of one chain. Start the next row with a double crochet, going into the second chain from the hook.

Skip one chain to make a treble stitch into the next chain: yarn over into the chain, then yarn over and pull through; yarn over and pull through two loops, then yarn over and pull through the remaining two loops.

Make two more trebles into the same chain.

Skip one chain, then make a double crochet in the next chain: yarn over and pull through, then yarn over and pull through two loops.

You have now completed one shell stitch.
