How To Crooked Grind
A skateboarder pulls off a trick so smoothly and quickly, you don't get a chance to see the individual steps to landing the tricks. Here are in-depth instructions on how to do a crooked grind.
It's going to be backside crooked now. So, obviously, coming up backside for me, speed is the key in this because it's a slide and a grind. It's a cross between the nose slide, the backside nose slide and backside nose grind - just going to be wanging it out to that 45-degree angle.
Your pressure is going to be over that back wheel, so just holding it in there nicely, keeping your shoulders sort of, like, centered over the rail, I want to keep center balanced, holding it there, and then, when you get to the end, it's just a little flip out. Land it bolts again. The thing you're going to need to remember, coming up pretty much, just that back chuck out just a little bit.
Not parallel, back chuck out a little bit. I have my toe off at an angle because you're foot's going to aim to be about there, so it's that chuck that's over. It's going to be about there to help you slide.
I have my foot about there, come up with a lot of speed, just going to Ollie up into it to show you, up and hold it. You're aiming to get from the nose slide back chuck, that wheel over, just going to hold them there nicely. Just slide along.
Of course, there was how to do the crooked grind. Going to come up, feet back a bit so you get onto that nose nicely there, bring it out to the 45, shoulders, bring it back around, crooked grind. .
