Nausea is a head and stomach discomfort that triggers an urge to vomit. Nausea can be a symptom of a severe condition but here are some steps to deal with this sick feeling.
Today, I am going to talk about how to treat nausea. Step one, identify it. Nausea is that sensation of the stomach wall wanting to empty itself.
Bearing that in mind, there are two things to remember. Number one, we have got to rest the stomach and number two, we've got to stop ourselves from getting dehydrated. Step two, things to try at home.
When you are feeling sick, you probably don't really want to do much. However, simply watching movies, watching TV can really be a great distraction to take your mind off the sickness. If you are doing that, make sure to sit next to a window so you still get some fresh air during that time.
Step three, look at your diet. When you're feeling sick, you may not feel like eating anything at all and that is okay as long as you make sure to drink plenty. If you do want to eat, eat much smaller food, more frequent meals, rather than three big meals.
Try to eat blunt foods such as toast or plain yoghurt and try to avoid very heavy rich dairy products. Other foods that are really good to prevent against nausea are things like ginger or peppermint. Step four, see you doctor.
If your nausea is persisting and you're not sure why, then, of course, it's really important to go and see your GP. Even if you do know why, such as food poisoning, then seeing your GP can be helpful because they can give you some anti-sickness drugs. The great thing about these tablets is that you can take them up to three times a day and within 30 to 60 minutes, you should feel better.
So, in summary, those are some things you can try to treat nausea. .
