How To Deal With A Cramp In The Calf
VideoJug shows you how to relieve a cramp in your calf. This helpful advice will soon stop the agony of this common muscular pain.
Step 1: Straighten your knee
As soon as you feel your calf in spasm, sit down and straighten your knee resting your leg in a comfortable position.
Step 2: Flex your foot
Now flex the foot up towards the shin pulling the toes back towards you as far as they will go. This should help relieve the pain.
Step 3: Remove shoes and socks
If your calf is still in spasm, remove any shoes, socks or garments surrounding the affected area. Then flex your foot again, using your toes as leverage to pull the foot back.
Step 4: Massage the affected area
When the spasm eases gently massage the back of the calf using your fingers until the affected area feels relaxed.
If you suffer with recurring cramps, contact your doctor.
Tips & Comments
It may sound crazy but has been working for me now for 5 months or so--I haven't had ANY cramps since I did this. Take pieces of a bar of soap and put the pieces under your fitted sheet on top of the mattress of your bed-needs to be put around area of your calves and all down by your feet too!! Every night I get into my bed I feel for the pieces of soap with my feet and move/rub them around until they feel like they are in the places I need them most--TRY THIS IT REALLY WORKS!! Try to use soap that is scented slightly-I took small bars I had gotten from staying in various hotels/motels and broke those into half -dollar size pieces
take a couple of teaspoons full of cream of tartar(the dry spice-find it in the baking section or spice aisle at any grocery store) anyway 2-3 teaspoons of it mixed in some really cold water, butjust enough water where you can actually drink it down..you don't want a paste(not that thick) but also don't want the cream of tartar mixed into 8 oz of water either just eye it until you can drink it without any clumps/or it be like a paste, repeat when needed...at first experiment with how much cream of tartar to use you may need 3-4 teaspoons instead. GOOD LUCK from a cramp free person, NOW that is!!
