How To Deal With Blackheads
Dealing with blackheads is about more than just squeezing spots. Watch our gentleman's guide to find out how to deal with blackheads.
Step 1: You will need
Step 2: Daily exfoliator
In the morning, wash your face using a daily exfoliator and some warm water. Apply in a circular motion, emphasising the common problem areas. In men these are normally the nose and upper cheeks. When you're done, rinse your face with warm water.
Step 3: Apply cream
Apply a face cream especially designed to reduce enlarged pores. This will be specified on the packaging. Apply using upward strokes. You can also tap the skin to improve circulation.
Step 4: Apply toner
Dampen a cosmetic pad by running it under warm water, then squeezing the water out of the pad. Apply toner to the pad and run lightly over your nose and upper cheeks. Toner will close the pores after exfoliating.
Step 5: At night
Before you go to bed, wash your face with soap and warm water. Use a soap designed for oily or neutral skin. This will be clearly marked on the packaging. Finally run over your face with some toner before heading off for that all-important beauty sleep.
Step 6: A steam bath
If, despite these preventative measures you find yourself faced with a rogue blackhead, fill a bowl with hot, steaming water. Drape a towel over your head and lean over the bowl. Stay in the steam for 10 minutes. This will open the pores and soften the content of the blackhead.
Step 7: Extricate the blighter
Wrap a tissue around each of your index fingers, and apply gentle pressure on each side of the blackhead. Try to tease out the blackhead. Don't squeeze too hard, and if the blighter's stubborn back off - the last thing you want is to cause scarring. Never use your fingernails as they carry dirt and can cause further infection.
Step 8: Call in the professionals
For a flawless complexion, consider a regular facial once every 4 weeks or so.
Tips & Comments
And a warm-wet towel over the face for a few minutes is also a great tip to draw out the muck from pores.
The problem is that if a man lets the black/whit eheads left alone in his skin for too long, it can creat serrious damage as the longer it stays can become perm. Thats why exfoliation is important for men who suffer from this. Just think how many times have we seen with with pitted faces? This is it. ~ Also the exfoliation of this example, really needs to do this in a more vigorous yet gentle circular upward motion, to draw out the impurities properly.
There are loads of men who work around dirt & grime and get pitted pores filled with black/ white heads. All a man really needs is some kind of exfoliator, as in a small perl scrub used in vigoous circular motion or one of those luffa scrubs for the face. And a sunscreen could very well be a more suitable creamer for a man's skin, rather than moisturizer.
Who actually cares that much? unless you a male model?
That was a bit ridiculous.
A make-up guide for men? wtf?

teenagers shouldnt tone. it takes away the natural oils in the skin.
best way to get rid of any spots or blackheads 1 wash face- water only 2 steam face for about 10 mins 3 splash COLD water on your face- cold water closes pores 4 moisturise your face
This video is wrong in a couple of areas. First off, blackheads are not caused by dirt. The black that you see is oxidised sebum. Nothing more. Secondly, you do *not* apply toner after moisturiser. You tone before moisturising. The correct order for a regimen is wash, exfoliate, tone, moisturise. With some exfoliators you can skip the wash step, though, most people will find their exfoliating product will perform better when the surface oils have been removed from their skin.
