How To Deal With Dating Fatigue Using NLP Techniques
Going on dates can be tiring and can start to become a bit of a chore. But by using these NLP techniques, as advised by love doctor Sam Van Rood from his book Teach Yourself Flirting, you can reinvigorate yourself and continue your search for the perfect match. So Deal with your dating fatigue the VideoJug way.
-
Step 1:
-
Symptoms
-
How do you know if you're suffering dating fatigue? Maybe you just can't face your next date. You're emotionally drained from all the high hopes and low results. Dating has become a chore, and you're confused which date is which. Was it Barry or Harry that told that anecdote about the fishing trip? Who knows?
Stop! Dating shouldn't be like this! You need some time out to reassess your dating life and make it fun again.
-
Step 2:
-
Time Out
-
A little break from dating can allow you to get back into the game later with a renewed enthusiasm. Set a month or some other specific amount of time aside to recharge your batteries, visit old friends, or to try something new.
You may also find that if you aren't actively looking for dates, you will be more relaxed and open to any date possibilities that might arise in this time. -
Even when you are in the right frame of mind for dating, it's important to keep some time for yourself. Make sure you go out with your friends and do fun stuff between dates.
-
Step 3:
-
Getting back into the game
-
Once you're ready to get back out there, you need to change dates for the better, so you won't get disappointed and frustrated.
Keep first dates short, only 30 minutes and during the day. Just having a coffee means you can easily cut your losses if there is no spark. Always listen to your gut instinct. Spark and chemistry is your mind's way of telling you about the 93% of non-verbal communication that we don't normally notice. -
And make your dates fun - doing something you will both enjoy will liven up even a dud date.
-
Step 4:
-
Programme your brain to get excited
-
If you're really dreading your next date, you can also programme your brain to approach it with a positive attitude, using this popular Neuro-Linguistic Programming technique.
-
First make your excitometer. Write down from 1-10 how excited you feel about your next date, where 1 is totally fatigued, and 10 is totally excited
-
Now, press your left thumb and forefinger together.
-
Then vividly imagine what your next date is going to be like.
-
Now press your right thumb and forefinger together.
-
And remember something you find really exciting. Maybe it was the time you went bungee jumping, or skiing. Feel hear and see what it what like. Really enjoy it again.
-
Let go of your left fingers then right fingers.
-
Repeat 5 times
-
Now check your excitometer. How excited do you feel about the next date?
This exercise will push up your excitometer and programme your brain to get rid of dating fatigue. -
Congratulations! You've dealt with your dating fatigue and are ready to get back out there and find your mate.
