How to deal with postpartum hair loss. Normally, most of the hair on your head, which is between eighty five and ninety five percent is in the growing phase; the rest, which is between five and fifteen percent is in the resting stage. After the resting stage, hair tends to fall out, and this is normally more noticeable after shampooing or brushing.

There are fewer hairs in the resting stage, and fewer hairs falling out each day, therefore hair appears thicker and much more luxuriant.
After birth, estrogen levels fall and as a result of this, several more of the hairs go into the shedding phase and fall out. This usually occurs between three to six months after delivery. It's very normal, and happens in most women.
In most cases, after this, women will find that their hair will regrow naturally between six and twelve months after delivery. However, there are treatment courses that can be given to increase the hair growth and give it a boost. We usually find that Minoxidil, in different strengths, four, five, or twelve and a half percent, which are prescription treatments, are very, very beneficial, and we also find that supplements such as Hair Vitalics which contain nutrients and are really essential for healthy maintenance of the hair and increase the integrity of the hair are very good.
