How To Decorate A Pretty Cupcake

Ingredients

  • hot pink icing
  • white icing
  • 1 sugar paste rose
  • 1 mini chocolate chip cookie
  • caramel or toffee sauce
  • edible glitter
  • 2 vanilla cupcakes

Step 1: Decorate your Cup Cakes

Prepare some vanilla cupcakes. For a flower cupcake, place some hot pink icing in a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle. Starting from the outer edges of the cupcake, press down and squeeze the piping bag, then pull it upwards to form a rose-like shape. Repeat this until the whole cupcake is covered. Finish it off with a sugar paste rose in the centre and a sprinkling of edible glitter.

Step 2: Add the Topping

To create a caramel and cookie topping, pipe buttercream icing onto a cupcake and smooth it out using a palette knife. Squeeze the caramel or toffee sauce over the icing in a zig zag motion. Take a tooth pick or cocktail stick and pull down across the zig zig to create a pretty pattern. Finish this cupcake with a mini chocolate chip cookie.
