How To: Deep Fried Chicken
Sometimes you just have to throw your healthy eating regime out the window and enjoy a fried chicken feast! In this step by step guide, chef and cookery school owner Matt Kemp shows you how to make breaded deep fried chicken.

Ingredients
- 2 chicken thighs
- flour
- 2 egg yolks
- breadcrumbs
- sunflower oil
Step 1: Coat the Chicken
Coat the chicken in flour, then beaten egg yolk, and finally breadcrumbs. You can make breadcrumbs by taking stale bread and grating or blitzing it in a food processor.
Step 2: Deep Fry the Chicken
Heat sunflower oil in a high sided pan or a deep fat fryer until it reaches about 150 degrees Celsius.
Step 3: Bake the Chicken
Fry the chicken pieces for about 5 minutes, then place them in an oven dish and bake them at 150 degrees for another 5 minutes or so to ensure they are cooked through.
