Many people are lost when it comes to handling checks, in particular, depositing them. Ali Braid explains how you can do this, worry free.
I'm going to talk you through how to deposit a check. First of all, go to the nearest branch of your bank. You will need to decide whether you are going to go to a cashier behind a desk or one of the paying in machines.
Do bear in mind that the money could take up to five days to clear, and that is five working days. It doesn't count the weekend. Make sure that you've filled in a paying in slip, writing clearly and neatly, and put in your banking account number and the amount of checks that you are paying into.
Make sure you have your bank card with you or at least a statement with your account details on it before you go into the bank to deposit your check. So, the main things to remember when you're depositing your check: decide whether you want to go to the cashier or you want to use one of the paying in machines; remember that the money is going to take five working days to clear; fill in a pay slip; and make sure you have your bank card or a statement with you. |Many people are lost when it comes to handling checks, in particular, depositing them.
