Vieri, from Hair By Vieri, shows you how to detangle your hair by using a paddle brush so that it's as pain-free as possible.
I will show you how to detangle the hair without too much pain. It all depends on what kind of hairbrush you're using. If you're using just a comb, you won't be able to get through the hair properly, and it would hurt way too much.
The best way is to get a paddle brush with lots of fine bristles which will smooth the hair slowly, layer by layer, and take it smooth quite quickly, as you can see. Now, the hair has been tangled a lot, underneath as well. There's been lots of backcombing, so the best way is to take sections from the bottom and work your way up, similar as if you try to detangle wet hair.
Good tip - if you get stuck with the hair, hold the hair above, and then try to release the tension. That way, you wouldn't pull it from the roots as much. Once you're satisfied with a section, then take another one, and work your way upwards.
You know the hair is tangle-free if you can run your fingers through without catching, same as your comb. Take the knots from the bottom half first, then go to the top. That way, it's much easier to take the tangled hair.
Now, your hair is all tangle-free by using a paddle brush.
