This video will show you how to successfully disable Windows Defender from a Windows Vista computer in a few short and easy steps.
Hi, I'm Danny from PC Paramedics and today, I'll be showing you how to disable Windows Defender within Windows Vista. Okay, you can't uninstall Windows Defender as it is a key component in Windows Vista but what you can do is turn it off or disable it. So to find Windows Defender, the easiest way to find Windows Defender is to type it into the search bar.
So today, we'll type in defender and it's your option on the list there. You'll have to enter the program in order to disable it. Once inside Windows Defender, you will notice you have various options starting from home, scan, tools, and settings, etc.
Under the drop down menu, if you scroll all the way down to where it says exit Windows Defender and click in here, you will bring up a message that says you won't be notified when potentially unwanted software tries to run on your computer, are you sure you want to exit Windows Defender? I would only recommend turning Windows Defender off if it is either blocking your computer from accessing the internet or you have another valid defender program such as an anti-virus. In this case, we want to switch it off so I'm going to say yes and I've simply turned Windows Defender off, and that's how to disable Windows Defender on a Windows Vista computer. .
