How To Do A Ball Hairstyles
This Videojug film clearly shows you how to create a ball style hair that you can even do at home for that special night.
Styling hair for a ball, you want the hair to be quite glamorous, sort of fairy tale, soft curls, waves and that kind of stuff, so what we've done is prep the hair first with curling tongs. To get that kind of soft, sort of curl going all the way through, you can see that on previous videos we've done in these series or you can also do the same sort of effects with heated rollers. This is just to give the hair kind of nice body and nice sort of flow because what we are going to do is have some hair sort of round by the face and we are going to pin some of it back. What you want to do is have a large amount of volume certainly around the crown area, sort of princess type of hair. So what we're going to do is start off by sectioning the hair away and we will go ear to ear. And then through this, up as we want to get quite a bit of volume through this section here, we are going to take a sort of "U" shaped horseshoe section, about three or four fingers worth width down from where you have just sectioned. Take that all the way around. Okay, this is going to be your base for doing the top section which is going to be the nice big kind of bit of volume on the crown area. What we are also going to do here is take the crown section almost in a kind of soft rounded kind of, almost like a triangle but not quite so straight, from the corner of where you've sectioned the hair here from the ear, sort of up to where you are having the parting, and repeat this on the other side. This is just so that the section, the raised section on the top isn't sort of stuck on. So now you've done this, you want to take a section in probably about a centimeter or so. Now, the back combing, I'll start again here, you want to start about half way here and it's all the way down. You want to make that so it's quite a substantial amount of hair, just gripping to that bottom area there at the base. Take your next section, and you repeat the same thing. So keep taking the small sections, two fingers width, until you get to the end of the section you originally marked out and sectioned off. Again, either with the brush or your hand, just smooth it over. Now taking your dark colored pins in this case, on blonde hair you want to use the light colored ones, and pinning it half in the hair, half gripping the scalp. It doesn't matter too much if you don't see any pins, you can actually see any at this point, but it doesn't matter if you're doing yours and you can see some pins there because we are going to be pinning a little bit of this hair back, just here at the sides as well. I'm going to show you how much hair is left here. And we want to keep the hair a little bit in front of the face, it's up to you. You can take it all the way back which is a nice style as well. But we want to keep a little bit of the curls around the front just to kind of keep a little bit of softness around the face, but that's totally down to you, whether you put all of it, or some of it back. So you take in a section here about three fingers width and this bit, you may want to use a little bit of hairspray on the top because your hair at this point can get being a little bit fly away. And again, just brush the top really softly with a soft bristle brush to brush in the hairspray in to the hair, or hold the hair in place. Now, you want this quite sort of softly coming back, not to severe. And you find that section of hair where you've pinned in before where it feels quite sturdy, almost like a pin cushion that you've created, find the scalp and push in when you've got the tension. And again, with thick hair, you may want to use more than one. Okay, we're going to repeat that on the other side. So after you have done this side and pinned it up as well, there you go around because we need to finish off the hair. So just with a little bit of lights, little bit of cream, little bit of bun, just smooth that in to your hands, you can do this with serum as well you need to rub it in, so you can't see it in my hands anymore, and you just take one of the curls, because some of the curls might have got a little bit broken up, or come out a bit. So, what you do is just twist the hair with the product evenly spread out in your hands, make sure you go all the way to the ends, and there you go just shows you, you can just put them back in to place, its already been put in to place with the heat you did earlier, just sometimes all the moving around, back combing, sectioning can just dislodge the curl a little bit, so there you go, right down to the end, and there's your curl back in place again. You probably want to use some hairspray in there, okay, and just to finish up to make it a little bit special, if you are going to a ball, to finish off, you have the height, you have the curls in the front, and to finish up just round the back, just gently scattered just a few little sparkles, just to finish off the ball style hair.
