How To Do A Bunnyhop
How To Do A Bunny hop: The Bunny hop is one of a number of basic BMX moves. It's fairly simple, looks good, and is most of all, a fun trick to perform on your bike. Jason Forde of Team Extreme shows us how to perform the BMX Bunny hop on your bike.
-
Step 1:
-
Raise the front
-
Start off by travelling at a moderate speed. You should then bend, or squat over the handle bars and pull up on them, bringing the bars towards your chest. If you do this whilst pushing down with your feet on the peddles, it should bring the front wheel up off the ground and into a wheelie position.
-
Step 2:
-
Raise the back
-
The moment the front wheel is up in the air, you need to raise the rear wheel. This is done by applying all your weight onto the peddles and therefore onto the back wheel, and then lifting your weight up off the peddles using your leg muscles. The feet should stay in place.
As the weight lifts off, continue pulling up on the handle bars. This should pull the rear wheel up so that both wheels are now in the air.
Try to perform all this in one fluid motion, which will take practice.

Step 3:
-
Landing
-
Keep your weight even on both sides of the bike, and try to land both wheels at the same time as you come back down. The arms and knees should be bent at all times to cushion the landing.
