How to do a cute, curly hairstyle? This video will guide you step by step on how to make a soft and curly hairstyle that looks great for any occasion!
This is how to do a cute curly hairstyle. As you can see, I've already curled most of the hair; I've just left this last section out to show you what I've done. To get really cute curls, you can do that through using your straightening irons or through tongs, but to get really lovely soft cute kind of curls, or sort of party hair, is by using one of these, the wand.
It's a ceramic wand. Now, the way that I've sectioned and curled this hair is not so regimented like you do when you're straightening hair and that sort of stuff because you want this to look a little softer. You want the curls to kind of be a little bit more individual curls rather than the same regimented curl all the way through, so it's a very easy style to do.
So take a section of hair like this. This, you're probably going to split. Again, it's not about the width and length of your fingers.
So take this section, split it into 2 or 3 sections, however you figure. A little bit of hair spray just through the top, run that through with your hands just to make sure you've got it all the way through the length and ends, and then with the wand, put it about an inch from the head, wrap around. Any kind of steam coming off is just perhaps a little bit of moisture or a bit from the hairspray that's coming through; it's not actually the hair.
Just leave, hold, and then pull the wand out. Now you have a very springy, cute curl. I'm just going to do the same with this last section here.
Just to finish this off, we're going to pin some of this back. So what you need to do is get your pins and have those the same color as the color of hair. In this case, probably blonde and brown, but we'll see how we go with the dark brown ones.
So you can just really gently pick up the hair, after it's been styled like this, it's pretty robust but you don't want to be too aggressive with it because you don't want to take the curl out. So perhaps take the section through the top like so and the other side. You just gently do this with your fingers because again, you don't want this to be too structured and too regimented.
This is a nice soft style that you're doing. So you're taking the kind of rectangular shape sort of from the front of the hairline to about an inch before the crown. Don't worry if your lines aren't really straight, this is a soft look that we're going for, it's not too structured.
Pin that away for now. And with the sides, depending on how thick the hair is, you might want to take it in a couple of sections. I think I'll probably get to take that in one.
Just gently combing your hair with your fingers just through there, I don't want to disrupt those curls too much. A little bit of hairspray, I'm going to take the little section just behind the ear. Get all of that into one, and just behind the area you've pinned back, put another pin.
And one on the other side, flat against the scalp and crisscross. So that's pretty secure, you need to do 2 pins when you're doing these first sections. And you're going to get a repeat on the other side, what we've just done there.
So we've just pinned back this side, as we've done on the other side. You just take this whole lot of hair, all on one go. Just be really gentle with it, you're probably going to need to use the mirror when you're doing this just to make sure it's quite equal.
What we're going to do is have the hair just slightly going over to one side, just teasing it a little bit with your fingers, pulling it down. The idea is that it's sort of soft and loose and doesn't look too overdone. There you have it, a cute, curly hairstyle! How to do a cute, curly hairstyle?
