Have you ever wanted to paint your face for a sporting event but too worried that it will look sloppy? In this video, a professional facepainter will show you what you need to know to look like a true fan for the big next match.
Hello, my name is Kat Sinclair. I am a professional facepainter. I've been painting for eight years.
I'm going to show you some tips, tricks, and techniques for doing your own facepainting at home. I'm going to show you how to do a football facepaint, and we're going to do England. So we need white and a sponge and a spray bottle.
And I've also got some red paint as well. So first of all, we need to make sure the sponge is nice and damp. Then load the sponge with the white paint, making sure that it's not too wet and not too dry.
So we don't get any streaky, patchy bits. Then we can apply the paint to the face. So this is our model.
We are going to start off with white quarters. So you do white down to the eyes here. Making sure there are no patches.
And when it comes to the inside of the eye, you can squeeze the sponge like that and get right into the corner of the eye there. Making sure not to hurt the person you're painting as well. When there's hair on the face, you may need to push a little bit harder to get the paint to go through the hair onto the skin.
That's one quarter. Then leave a space for the red, and come across here to do the bottom quarter. Again where there's hair on the face, we need to push a little harder with the sponge to get it through.
You may need to reload your sponge after that. Then you'll need to leave a space in the middle to do your red cross. It's quite easy to, when you've got a sponge with a straight edge, you use that edge to make a straight line.
And then again, squeeze the sponge to get into the corner of the eye. And press to get through the hair on the eyebrow. And then leave another space, pressing quite hard to get through the hair on the chin as well.
And then when it comes to underneath the eye, ask the person to look upwards, and then use the edge of the sponge just to go underneath the eye like this. Just dab it underneath, then you've got your paint right up to the edge of the eye. That's that side there, and then we need the red paint and quite a wide brush for this part.
So you load up your brush with water and use it to mix the paint. Make sure the paint is all nice and creamy. And starting from the top.
Just paint a really broad line right down the middle of the face. And across this side as well. And then do the other side, and that's your England face.
That's how to do an England face. .
