Top Tips

  • The rising block and the low section block are performed in a walking stance with the front arm's palm towards the side of your face and the rear arm behind it, knuckles to knuckles.
  • In the rising block your blocking arm should finish about a fist above your head at a 30 degree angle; this will ensure the attack is deflected away from you.
  • The starting position for the middle section block is a walking stance with the blocking arm face downwards in front of you, and the other arm crossed over the top of it at the elbows.
