Hi. My name's Desmond Aspill, and I've been teaching gymnastics for twenty years. And today we're going to break down some of the difficult elements of gymnastics so that it's more approachable.

With technique gymnastics, we try to make things more approachable, by building confidence and making gymnastics fun. So starting with very basic elements in gymnastics, which is the forward roll, there's a few technical points in it. For instance, stretching your legs as you push off the floor, and tucking your legs back in in order to give you a faster technique to stand up without using your hands.

So, off you go. Legs stay straight. Tucked tight.

Okay. So with a forward roll, the legs are starting off bent. They push straight in order to get forward motion.

The legs are tucked tight again to increase rotation. And you can stand up without using your hands. .
