This VideoJug video is designed to show you how to sew a French Knot for decorative stitching on embroidery. Watch and learn how to make your flower centers in your pieces beautifully.
Hi, my name is Aliza from Seam So Easy, www.seamssoeasy.com.
I have been sewing for 15 years and today, I am going to show you some techniques. Okay, so for a French knot, up down. So we are doing a French knot here, try to keep it as small as possible and then dependent on how big you want your knot to be.
I am doing this twice. Bring it up and there, you put your little knot, come down and then come up at the next point that you want your knot to be. And this is very definitely a decorative stitch, this you would use on any sort of hand embroidered thing, flower centers, yes.
Now, I will show you one that has three. You can see it is a much bigger knot. And I will do another one which is four.
As you can see how, but, you must get that first initial stitch as small as possible so that it sits just on top of that original stitch. One, two, three, four, that's beautiful. There's your French knot.
Knot it off of the back, the same way you would do anything in your stitch, wrap around, and cut. There's your French knot. .
