How To Do A Front Flip

This video walks you through the steps of a front flip dance move. They even break it down to hand placement and landing position.

In this video, we're going to show you how to do a front flip. This is with hands. This isn't without hands.

The one without hands is actually called a front tuck or a front sunny. So, to do this, you're going to have to use your hands and also, if you can do hand stands, you'll have a slight advantage. So, basically, there's three parts to this move.

First part, in your hands, second part is your preparation, so the run-up which isn't actually a run-up. It's a walk and the actual flip itself. So, this is how we can break it down.

The first thing you're going to do is you're going to place your hands like this. Your shoulders are going to be wide apart. Sometimes, you may find that your hands turn slightly inwards.

Don't worry about that too much. So, when you're going to go down, you're going to place your hands spread or if it feels more comfortable for you, turn them slightly in. You're going to have slightly bent arms and just being able to take the weight of your body.

So, that's step one. Step two is the run-up, which actually are two steps. So, you start with your weakest leg first.

You step and then, step again. So, it's kind of more of a preparation sort of thing. You bend your front leg, place your hand, and ready to flip.

Now, this third part is actually taking your body over the top. So, you push with your leg. You use your guiding leg to push up, over and then, you flip with our body, which entails your stomach and your back.

Basically, your whole body, so this is how to do it. I'll show you a demonstration. Make sure that you land with your legs apart and that you take it through your knees, not your back.

And that's how you do a front flip. .
