How To Do A Lacrosse Face Off

In this video, you will be shown multiple techniques for a proper faceoff while playing in a game of lacrosse, a popular sport in many parts of Europe.

I'm Zak Jordan and I play for Hillcroft Lacrosse Club. This is my teammate Seb. He's going to help teach you how, like the fundamentals of faceoff.

The faceoff is the start of every game, and every quarter, and after every goal, and is a sort of fight for the ball between one player from each team. The ref will put the ball in the middle of the field, and each player will stand on either side of the path, and they'll have their stick backwards with like that and they'll put it up against the ball like such. The ref would then say down, and that's when you went down, then say set after correcting the sticks, and then he'll blow his whistle.

When the whistle goes, you're fighting for this ball, usually you'd like the fundamental one would be to clamp, as in go over the ball, then you'd rake it out like that. You can also, if you're having trouble raking the ball as soon as you've gone for the ball, you can also hit him with your shoulder like such, push him out, and that would be my first fundamental tip for face-offs. Okay, so Ken my teammate in yellow who's going to act as the ref, and me and Seb are going to have a proper faceoff for you guys to see what it's like without helmets.

Alright, gentlemen, down, set. And that, people, is how you win a faceoff. Set.

And that is how you faceoff. .
