Hi, I am Simbie Yau. I am an illustrator graduated from the University of Lincoln. Today, I am going to show you how to draw objects.

This is how you draw a ladybird, so I am going to draw a simple egg shape.Ellipse or an egg sized ellipse. Just drawing out roughly in pencil, just the section off for the head.

Maybe draw a little bit bigger. And just roughly opening out here, antennaes off the shape of the eyes. Then mark out where you want to put the legs.

So I am going to just draw them, very questy to their head and then in the middle. Just drawing their own, the base of their legs. We are drawing this quite symmetrically and just have a center through the middle of shape.

And then I am not going to be drawing them in circles, the blackspots. I am just gonna roughly make a kind of an organic shape. We are just roughly doing it, only for experimenting with shapes.

And I just put seven spots on the ladybird and then draw out the legs. I am going to draw them in sections, they are just the main part of the leg and then another part foot. Just the same for the rest of them, if you look at how the ladybird stands and how the legs shape out.

And they are going in all sorts of angles, they are quite long. So I just rough out where they meet. Okay, so that's just the outline.

I am just gonna go to simply draw out with black pen there, make over the details. And just draw the head and then the body using the pencil lines to go do around it. And draw a line through the center.

I am just gonna be using a smaller pen, a feather pen. Just mark out where the feathers are. I am just gonna roughly shade in.

I will just be adding some more details. It's the antenna, I will be just drawing them in general lip shaped connected to one another. And then I will be drawing the legs now.

Okay, I will do if you want, a bit more shading. Just using the fine angle, just shading in the black line to give it more black look. The dark areas though, just fill in bit more and then towards the end, towards the middle area, wee bit more white to give the area a reflection of light look in the center.

So this is how you draw a ladybird.
