In this video, I'm going to talk to you about how to do a Madonna workout. Now, Madonna has got a very famous body. She's been training for years.
She has had lots of personal trainers. Some of the training she does is very scientific, very good. Some of it, to be honest, is nonsense.
The thing is she's always trained. When you're always trained, your body, in different ways, your body adapts. Your body gets lean, strong.
That's why she has that certain look, that kind of very defined, sculpted look. I'm going to show you today a total-body functional exercise. When I mean functional, it means it's not a machine.
There are wobbly parts to it. So you have to use your core, you have to use your stabilizing and neutralizing muscles, as well at the big muscle groups. Let me demonstrate.
So, I'm doing actually three things at once. Just by holding my body there, it's a plank. It's great for my core, like a Pilates exercise.
By rolling my legs in and out, I'm working my glutes, working my legs, working my lower back. By doing the push ups, I'm working my chest, shoulders, and triceps. As a very talented dancer, she would also do lots of exercises to help her balance and core.
One way you can do this is by kneeling on the ball and trying not to fall off. I make it look relatively easy because I've done it before, but most people that haven't done it, you'll be wobbling all over the place. The trick is to just try and stay upright and come up.
Be as still as you can, that's the goal. There are all these little muscles, you can't see at the moment, all firing away to stabilize my body. Remember, doing workouts isn't just about looking a certain way.
