I'm here to talk about neck massage, the benefits, and also give you some simple techniques that you can take away and try at home. Neck massage is one of the most effective types of massage to reduce stress.
Most illnesses that we face are aggravated from stress, so learning simple techniques to massage the neck can really start to help you reduce those feelings of stress, and therefore re-energize the body. The other benefits include improved circulation. So with improved circulation, you have better blood flow, which means that more nutrients are actually coming to the body, and also simple pressures to the back and the neck also help improve other health systems within the body.
So there are lots of benefits that you can actually get. A lot of people also like neck massage because it specifically focuses on the top of the back and the neck area, where we're also carrying a lot of tension. Many of us who sit behind computers, this is our greatest complaint.
And also, sports enthusiasts; people who play a lot of aggressive sport find that this is the area that needs targeting the most. So some of the simple techniques that you can do at the neck are to actually take two of your fingers on each side of the neck, so from the base of the ear down the sides of the neck into the top of the shoulders, and actually just apply pressure as you go down. If you do this very slowly and you actually push into the neck area, you'll feel tension starting to reduce.
