In this Video jug clip, motorcycle racing expert explains how to do a racing start on a motorbike during a race. He explains the various steps that need to be followed in order to get a good start during the race.
If you are going to start racing and if you want to start racing motorcycles, one of the most important part of the race is the start. Most races are won or lost at the start. A good position at the start of the race cuts heck a lot of good or bad work.
To get a good start is most important. First of all, you need to pull the clutch in to get ready to engage with the gear. In a machine like this, a 450 racing Honda, the best gear to start is the second gear.
Put it in the second gear. The next thing to do is your position on the body. Get as far forward on the machine as you possibly can.
Because it's a 60 horse power, when you open the throttle and let out the clutch and trying to go fast, the front wheel is going to come up in the air. So, you lean forward over the handle bar. Get your weight right over the front wheel, so your chest is right over the front post here.
That's what the bar pad is there for. So you don't bang your chest against that. Learn over, Rev the machine using the throttle, a nice constant ready steady to go and as soon as the gate drops or the flag goes, let go off the clutch and off you clear in up field as fast as you possibly can.
So, once again, the clutch is in and you are leaning forward. The throttle is open, let go off the clutch and go. Get ready for that forward momentum.
You are going to go forward very, very fast. The back wheel might start to spin. But you have to go forward, keep going forward, until you get to that first corner and hopefully, you will be there in the first place.
So, let's see how to do that on the track. .
