How To Do A Scalp Massage

This is a film from Video Jug about scalp massage. This is something that you can even do yourself with a little practice. There are an unbelievable amount of muscles and pressure points in the head and neck area. So as you can imagine this would be a wonderfully relaxing way to end a stressful day.

Hey my name is Laurence Sessou. I'm a massage therapist for Waterloo Body Station here in London. I'm going to do a scalp massage and this is a technique extracted from Indian

So what I'm going to do is ask you to gently rest your head on the pillow. Are you comfortable?

Client: Yes, that's fine.

Okay, we're going to first start with the fingers down some circular movements from the occipitulis and coming down into the trapezius muscles.

We're still starting into the massage. We are using the fingers first. Now we're going to be doing the side of the head as well, working on the scalp.

Similar to what we did on the neck, we're starting with the fingers doing some circular movement of the fingers, my right hand is supporting her neck and the left hand is doing the work.

Then coming from the side into the middle and then coming under the occipitulis. There's more movement, more frigidity, which shows that the scalp is starting to relax.

We will be sliding our fingers into the hair of the scalp and be gently doing some circular movements holding the hair between our fingers. So we're doing this all over the head. Then I do a movement which is quite stimulating, which is some brisk movements.

Very good for circulation. Okay that's how we do an Indian head massage. .
