How To Do A Spiderman Facepainting
Many boys especially like to do a Spiderman facepaint. Spiderman is one character that is very popular amongst both little boys and teenagers.
Hello. My name is Kat Sinclair. I am a Professional Facepainter.
I've been painting for 8 years. I'm going to show you some tips, tricks and techniques for doing your own facepainting at home. I'm going to show you how to do a Spiderman facepainting.
This is one of the most popular faces amongst boys, so you will get asked for this a lot. You can start off by doing the white around the eyes. 'I want you to close your eyes for me.
And then just turn here a little bit.' I use the edge of the sponge, the straight edge of the sponge to just draw upwards a nice straight line above the eye and then you fill in below that with white. And bring it down, again a nice straight line downwards and then you want curving under the eye.
'Just open your eyes upwards for me.' I've used the cake white for this because it doesn't allow the -'Close your eyes again.' Because once you put the red on, it doesn't pick up the white and turn it pink which is very important if you're doing boys, not to have a pink on their face.
With the cake white, it doesn't matter if it is a little bit messy around the edges because we can clean that up using the red because it will go up on top of that. That's the eyes done. Now again, fresh sponge and red paint.
As our model has a beard, we're just going to go down to just above the beard and make it into an eye-mask shape rather than the full face. We'll start at the top, use the edges of the sponge to draw straight line and then just start filling in downwards. So when it comes to the bottom of the eyes, you can tidy up just using the edge of the sponge and just draw straight underneath that.
As you can see, you can't see any of the white through it, so it's tidied up quite nicely. So it's the red done. And now you need a thin brush and your black paint.
And you start off with the outline of the eyes, just a nice thick outline round the eyes, pressing your brush down, getting to a nice pointy top. And then you want to do the web, so like a spider, you start in the middle and draw the construction lines, coming outwards. This is like a very long teardrop.
So I start with a pointy brush and as I go outwards, I'll gradually lay it down till I've got a teardrop shape at the end, and then we'll join the shapes up with the line coming towards the middle of the face and then up again. If you have a look at the real Spiderman or a real spider's web, you'll see that it's the same as this. I'll do a few more bits of web coming out this side as well.
So again, short teardrops just to the edge of the mask and then join those up, joining up all the spokes of the spider web. And that's how to do a Spiderman face. .
