How To Do A Trx Workout For Beginners

Today, I'm going to show you how to do a basic TRX move. A TRX is a great bit of kit as it's nice and light and you can take it anywhere as long as you've got somewhere to secure it to like this tree here. And also, regardless of your fitness or strength levels, you get a decent workout using it.

So, the move we're going to start with is the squat. So, get your hands near your hips like so, feet slightly wider than hip-width, staring at the anchor point at the top, keeping the body nice and straight, bend the knees 'til the arms are straight and then stand up like so. Keeping the ropes tight at all times, you want to make sure, breathe in and breathe out.

Now, we can make the move slightly harder by changing to one-legged squats, always trying to use the leg rather than pulling up on the arms. It's the same on the other side. To make it more advanced, still, back to the original stance, and we add in a jump.

So, go down, come up and jump, again, keeping the body nice and straight, abs drawn in and the ropes nice and tight. The best thing about TRX is that it's all core all the time so you're really working the core muscles as well as whichever muscle you decide to target. And that's how to perform a basic TRX move.
