In this video presentation, acne make-up and acne prevention are explained by renowned dermatologist, Claudia Louch.
We have to be quite careful in applying acne make-up. You should ideally use oil-free make-up. Now, if you go to High Street shops, you can use liquid foundation if you prefer, oil-free liquid foundation, or you could actually use the powder.
Some of them give really, really good coverage. If you apply those, actually with a brush or with a pad, make sure to wash the brush and the pad very regularly with soap and water to disinfect them, because bacteria accumulate on them and actually can make your acne worse. So, that's really, really important to do, with any implements you actually use directly on your acne.
Now, before you cover up the acne, make sure that you actually nourish your skin very well and treat your skin very well before applying any sort of make-up. So, wash your skin. This gentle wash, ideally a creamy wash, but an oil-free creamy wash, again, you can find a range of those in the shop's or you can actually go more for natural option's such as, for example, calendula aloe cream, not the gel.
Use a little face brush actually to brush or wash into your skin with a little bit of warm water, so that actually makes sure that it removes all the make-up at night. Never go to bed with this make-up on, that is the worst thing you can do, but your skin can't actually breathe anymore. It causes more bacterial infection on your skin.
It's very important that you remove any sort of make-up before you go to bed very well. So, therefore, use a wash, use a little face brush. The same thing for the face brush applies as if it's normal brushes, you must wash them with water and soap after you brush your face with a wash and cleanse your face very thoroughly.
Use a good toner, it needs to be actually water-based toner, not an alcohol-based toner because that is far too harsh for your skin. And try not to have an essential oil-based toner because that may irritate your skin. Then, obviously, you can use for various products and go for various products to apply directly on to your spots, from BPO and various other products you may want to choose.
Then, moisturize your skin very well with it, day and night and if you may again, a water-based, then only apply your make-up. Wash your hands before applying the make-up, if you use a liquid foundation and use a clean brush or pad for any sort of other make-up. .
