How To Do An Endo
The Endo involves stopping a bike in it's tracks and braking to raise it up onto the front wheel. It is a simple, fun trick that can be fairly easy to learn for a new BMX rider. Jason Forde of Team Extreme shows VideoJug how an Endo is done.
-
Step 1:
-
Position
-
The starting position for an endo should be moving along slowly, barely at walking pace, whilst standing on your peddles which should be parallel with the ground.
-
Step 2:
-
Braking
-
Whilst coasting at this speed apply the front brake whilst at the same time pushing forward on the handle bars.
As you push the bars, lean forward to bring your head over the front wheel and bend your knees, being very careful not to lean too far. All the while, keep holding the front brake. All the above should help to bring the rear wheel into the air so it rests just under your behind, allowing you to hold the position balanced on the front wheel for a brief period.
The moment before you apply the brake, try giving a short quick dip at the knees, to provide some bounce. This will aid bringing the rear wheel into the air

Step 3:
-
Riding out
-
Riding out of the move is simply a case of leaning back to transfer your weight towards the rear of the bike whilst still holding the brake. You can then ride off.
