How to do bare makeup, or as I like to call it, invisible makeup. First of all, apply some moisturizer. When you are doing invisible or bare makeup, you really do not want to see any signs of makeup that has been applied, so there is a lot of blending involved, and there is also only a small amount of makeup to be put on.
Just rubbing in the moisturizer, it's key to use some moisturizer before you apply foundation to make sure the foundation goes on smoothly and evenly, you do not want any marks or detection of any foundation on your face. Next, the foundation or the base, it's key to use something very light on the face for this, nothing too strong or heavy because it really will show as foundation. So, tinted moisturizer or a very light foundation are perfect.
Laura Mercier has a perfect tinted moisturizer which could work very, very well. So, apply this foundation very lightly, you can use your fingers, you can use a sponge or you can use a brush, but make sure you keep it very, very light. Possibly something with some light reflecting properties in it can be good.
After you have applied the foundation, look on your face and see areas that you might need to put a small amount of concealer on. So, parts where there are some blemishes. Use a creamy, a very creamy concealer.
Just touch up certain areas like around the nose. When you are applying the concealer, you need just a little touch of it, not too much, and then just tap around just to blend in concealer so it covers up the blemish. Very faint, very light touches.
Next, think about underneath the eye. If you got some dark circles, you can use a concealer, or you can use a light reflecting pen in order to minimize any darkness and perhaps puffiness. Dab only along the line where the actual dark circle is and softly blend this in.
And next, onto the lips, when you are picking the lipstick to use, think about what colour your natural lips are. If you take something that is a lipstick that is completely different to your natural lip colour, it can look unnatural, so find something that does mimic and highlights a little bit more your natural colour is. You only need a small amount of the lip colour to smooth over the lips.
As you can see, the colour I have picked here very much matches our model's lip colour. Put it on with either a brush or your finger and just tap it in. No one would know you are wearing lipstick.
Use some of this lipstick as well to form your blusher. A small dot either side and just blend this in with your finger. It will match your skin tone and it's great for carrying around one lipstick that you can use on your cheeks as well and it has a great dewy finish to it.
Now, on to the eyes, no harsh eye liner, no strong bright eye shadows are needed here. Just probably use a pencil or you can use some shadow on a tapered brush. So, draw a line along the lash line.
Keep the liner right next to the lash line and do a very faint feathering if not pressing slightly into the lash line. Blend this in a small amount just so again there are no harsh lines. If you need to, you can also do the lower lash.
Again, with a pencil or a small amount of powder, follow along the lower lash line and just pressing into the line where the lashes, like that, just a small amount to create an illusion of thicker lashes. Next, a great trick of these little things, eye lash curlers - just place your eyelashes comfortably inside the contraption and squeeze very gently, and you can feather it out a few times to really open up the lashes. You don't need to use mascara but you can use a small amount of it just to really kind of open up the eyes.
Try not to go for something that is too plumping in a mascara. Something that is quite fine and quite thin. Again, you are trying to make it look as super natural as possible.
Just one or two coats is all that's needed. Avoid the really thick over lashed effect. Next, consider the eyebrows.
