Okay, welcome to How to Do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Now, Brazilian jiu jitsu is a vast topic and there are many many moves that I could show you today. What we're going to do is break down a move from a position called side control or side mount.

Now, this move is called the side triangle. But there are a couple little possibilities that you can also find yourself in within this position. So, we're going to go further in that stage as well.

Okay, check it out. Okay, so you might find yourself in this position here where you're on your back and your opponent has you in that side control or side mount position. Now, it is possible to get a submission form here.

I'm going to show you one variation. The triangle from this position goes as follows. You're going to shift your body weight and you're going to try and release the opponent's arm from their grasp.

Tuck it around your own leg and then lock your foot underneath your opposite leg. That's very important. That traps the arm.

The next thing you're going to do is shift again and you're going to push their head and draw in where the arm was, again trapping the foot behind the leg. That's so important. From there, just apply a pressure down using the right leg and squeeze through the left leg including the hamstrings and there's the tuck there.

Now, your opponent is feeling suffocation from being caught in this position here. They can't breathe; even that causes them to tap. Now, if that doesn't work and they defend that position, you do have other possibilities.

You could take the arm, for example, move it across to go for a straight arm bar. Apply pressure across the elbow. You see he had a tap there.

To show you again, pressure across the elbow, lifting up nice and strong. Again, if that doesn't work, so you tried it but it doesn't go, it is possible using a bent arm. Put pressure in the shoulder joint in what is called a kimura.

It's important here to keep that head trapped so they can't roll out. And apply pressure upwards, pulling down and up, so that the wrist goes away from the shoulder and there's a tap again. So, that was how to do Brazilian jiu jitsu techniques using the triangle from the side mount position as you're defending on your back.

We showed you a couple of variations today. But if you really want to get a grasp of the martial art, you need to learn it for yourself. Get yourself down to your nearest Brazilian jiu jitsu school and you can learn moves like this plus more.

Have fun with it, enjoy, and I hope you found that useful. Take care. .
