Okay, so, today I'm going to show you how to do a pirouette en dedans. Generally, your pirouette en dedans comes from a fourth position here with the back leg straight and the front leg bent. The best way to try your en dedans pirouette is again to train the steps.

So, we rather go straight into your turn, go into the position and hold. So from here, we're going to go from your fourth position, so arms are in third here. As the leg comes through, you're going to swish it through into second, the arm goes out to second, lift to a low leg position – don't let that leg too high – and then you lift it up to pirouette position here, the arms come in.

The little toe has to be underneath the knee and with the knee out to the side. And that's your position for your en dedans pirouette. So if I show that again, you're in fourth position, your arms are in third.

Swish the leg out to a low, no higher than 45 degrees, arm fondue, then draw it up into pirouette position. Then, from there, we can then take it onto demi-pointe, again, no turn yet so you go from there, swish out and draw up and finish. And again, so from there, you're going to take it on your demi-pointe as you bring your leg underneath the knee and up and lower.

Then, you can take it into your turn. Now, you need a good whip action again with the head, so make sure you get your focus point, look straight ahead of you, try and keep your focus on that point as you turn around and up and down. I should do that one more time, and whip, and down.

And that's how to do an en dedans pirouette. .
