How To Do French Knots

Embroidery is a very old hobby of females and a French knot just adds a little bit more texture to the embroidery. It is very simple and easy to do.

In this video, I am going to show you how to do French Knots. These are some examples of French Knots. They make a lovely textured feeling on your embroidery.

So, step one, you need a piece of fabric stretched into an embroidery frame, some needles, some embroidery scissors and some embroidery floss. Prefer slightly thicker threads. Step two - pin up your needle through your fabric.

Then, you are going to wrap the thread twice over the needle. So, you are taking the thread up and over round the needle, one, two times. Next, that is little bit fiddly, you want to hold on to the twist of your thread on your needle.

Place the needle down just to the side where you bought your thread up. At the same time, you need to keep holding the thread with your left hand so you are keeping it under tension and then pull it down on to the surface of the fabric and now, you can pull your needle through to make your knot. So, we bring in the needle up through the fabric.

We are wrapping the thread over the needle once, twice. Make sure you hold on to your thread to keep the thread in tension. Hold your finger on to the twists on the needle.

Put the needle down through the fabric where you bought the needle up. Pull the leaps down on to your surface of the fabric and then your needle through to make your knot. And that's how you do French Knots.
