Now, the way you're controlling it, like in football, you have to dribble where you knock it with your feet and you can keep goal, we have what's called a cradle. If I was running down really fast and I was handling my stick really rigid, the ball, like in an egg and spoon race, would pop out. So, what we do is – I'll just grab a ball – when you're down the field, you do what's called a cradle so as you're running, you play it up and down nicely, up and down motion, and I see quite in a lot people, they tend to drop it but again, perhaps this next is perfect.

But all it means is that when you're running down, it means the ball is constantly under control. If I was running down as the ball starts to wobble, toss it down, and then you hit it. So, that's a cradle and again, left handed is just the same, just a gentle up and down motion.

Now, this is a two-handed cradle. This is when you're running up and down in the open midfield, so it's the cradle you would use. If you're the ducker like myself, you can do a match and a one-handed cradle.

So, it's vertical with the same motion, backwards and forwards using your wrist and that again is how you can save the ball and obviously when you're getting shots, it's what you call getting hit in lacrosse, you hopefully keep to pass on the score. So basically, that's just a few pointers, a few basics so you know how to hold, how to cradle and how to pass and catch, all the basic motions so that when you're starting out, you know, hopefully you've watched this video, go and buy a lacrosse ball, so all you need and just a few tips to get you going. So, good luck!.
