How To Do Marge Simpson
The Simpsons is one of the most popular cartoons in the world. In this video, Jamie Sale will show you how to draw the perfect Marge Simpson.
Hello, my name is Jamie Sale, I'm a freelance cartoonist from Essex, and I am going to be teaching you how to draw cartoons. Now, we're going to draw Marge Simpson from The Simpsons. First of all, you start with a circle, and you want to leave enough room because she has got really big hair.
This circle will represent the main part of her face. Her hair is actually two more circles high, and it bends back ever so slightly. That will give you the right height for her hair.
Firstly, you start with drawing one of her eyes in, right in the middle of the circle, and draw another eye right next to it. This needs to be bulging off of this circle slightly. Then you draw a nose.
The nose has to come from the circle, from the middle of the circle, and overlap her furthest eyelid. Then draw her brow, her eyebrow in there. Dot in some pupils; draw her overbite, so you come out from the bottom of this eye here.
Like that. And her ear is between her eye and her mouth, pretty much. Then for her hair, you just need to put in some arcs, like that, to represent the curls in hair.
She also has eyelashes, four on each eye to be precise. Do the bottom of her mouth, which will come roughly about halfway where the top lip is. Then basically, you just define here exactly where the hair is going to go, so that it actually comes out from the back of the head slightly.
It's a lot thicker than the circles that I originally drew, so I've had to compensate for that and go further away from them. And then again, as you did with the hair here, you just add in arcs all the way up the lines. You just pencil in the details a bit harder, define the features.
And that is how you draw Marge Simpson. .
