How To Do Orchid Arrangements
This 'how to' video will show you how to make an orchid arrangement that won't break your budget, but that is fit for even the most expensive styles. No skill required!
Hi. My name is Alexandra Lyons and I'm a master florist. I create floral displays for celebrity homes, events, weddings, and special occasions.
I'm going to share some tips with you on flower arranging. You'll need a lovely tall glass vase, a single stem of some Cymbidium orchids, some stones or gravel, and some water. Start by placing the stones in the vase.
It's going to make a little noise. Make sure the base is evenly covered. Add a little water.
An inch or two will be fine. And then you want to measure your Cymbidium orchid against the glass. So you want it to stand just to the top.
Cut it in a slant. Gently place it in. You can damage the petals.
This is a very simple design that doesn't take a lot of time, and looks very effective. You can decorate maybe a console table with three of these in a row. That would look really really lovely.
Also, placing the orchid inside the vase creates a micro climate, and this helps the stems last longer. The water evaporates and the orchid stays humid, which it likes. And it also drinks up through the stem.
And this is how you make orchid arrangements. .
