All right, my name is Tom. I work for Aspect Maintenance, and I'm just going to show you how to do a painted effect. This is basically just a wash glaze over a pre-painted surface.

So what we've got here is a white surface painted in a vinyl paint which is slightly shiny and sort of slippery almost. On top of this what we're going to use is a 'Scumble' mix. That's basically just a mixing agent that you put with your paint about two to one, and then you brush it on in any sort of fashion.

You can do it in a rag roll effect. You could do it with a sponge to get a sort of textured effect. It just means that once it dries clear it's like a permanent glaze on the top.

So that's the 'Scumble.' We've mixed it with the green paint, and basically what were going to do is put a wash over the top. So, if you start like that, and you just work the paint out, it begins to thin out in sort of a textured effect.

You'll get this in some restaurants, etc. They want a textured finish to the walls rather than just a flat block of color. You put it on, and you leave it to dry.

What you'll be left with is just a textured finish, and it will dry nice and solid. The glaze will stay as it looks now. You can use any color.

You could use a light yellow against a dark red or vice-versa. Whichever it is, just apply it how you like and leave it to dry for 24 hours. That's just a type of textured finish.

That's all there is. So that's how you would put a 'Scumble' glaze on to a painted wall. .
