How To Do Party Makeup
Have you ever wanted to learn how to do perfect party makeup? This professional tutorial shows you how to create a cool, sultry look using various natural shades of eyeshadow and liner. Be sure to keep your lips natural to avoid looking over done.
I’ve got a primer that I’m going to put on the skin. Squeeze a small amount onto your hand to apply on the skin; this is Urban Decay primer potion. Next I’m going to do some concealing, I’m using the foundation next which is Bourjois, use the foundation brush and apply. I’m going to put on some concealer now, this is the line smoothing concealer by Clinique. Dot under the eye and blend, this gets rid of any dark shadows or pigmentation. Next I’m going to apply some translucent powder, I’ve got some Estee Lauder lucidity translucent, just pop a few grains in the lid of the pot, apply to your powderpuff, press and roll into the skin, then with a nice big fluffy brush dust off any excess. This will leave you with a flawless base.
Now we’ll start working on the eyes, I’m going to choose this palette by Estee lauder called wild violet. I’m going to start with a base shade of the pale shimmery colour, start off at the brow bone and blend down. Next I’m going to use the lovely molten gold colour in the palette and blend that up into the other colour. Now I’m going to use the fawn shade in the palette, and I’m going to place that in the eye socket and blend it through, it’s a bit like an antique gold which works really well with the other colour. Sue’s got lovely big eyes so anything too pale wouldn’t work with her eye shape, medium to darker tones work best. I’ve got a really useful Smokey eye shadow brush from Number 7 and I’m going to use the purple in the centre of the palette which has got a very fine pink sparkle so it’s really unusual to work as an eyeliner and that goes on the upper lid and then blend it across, up to the lash-line. I think what I’m going to use for the corners is a bit of this eye intensifier by Sue Davitt, it’s like a coppery gold colour, just for the inner corner on each eye. I’m also going to use this on the outer corner of the bottom eyelids for this party look. Okay, now’s time for some Mascara. I’ve got a gorgeous product here from Guerlain. So I’m going to apply the black mascara here, wiggle the lashes, don’t worry about any smudges, you can take them off with a cotton bud. I’m then going to use a little bit of this product, it’s called Vie at home. It’s a highlighter liquid, it’s called skin dew, you could actually mix this with your foundation or just use it on its own and I’m just going to use it as a cream highlighter, just to highlight where I want the light to catch. So the cheekbone area, the brow bone, cupids bow, centre of the nose any of those areas, that can look really flattering. These are really dinky, these are mini Bourjois which I’m going to apply to the cheeks, where I will blend this and the highlighter together in the apples of the cheeks. Finally I’m going to apply some lip-gloss, I’ve got a Guerlain lip-gloss here, number 847. I’m going to keep the lips very soft because the eyes are quite Smokey, so we’ll just keep the lips very natural. This is a beautiful shade; it’s like a very soft sheer copper with plenty of sparkle thrown in.
