How To Do Pilates At Home
This VideoJug film is made to show you how to do Pilates at home using items found around your house. The instructor, Gillian Greenwood, demonstrates some basic techniques to get you started with Pilates.
You can do Pilates at home without expensive equipment. You can fill up bottles all the way to make it quite heavy or even just halfway. You can use cans.
You can use a scarf. I'm going to show you how to do a workout at home with just these simple pieces of equipment. This is a great exercise for toning your chest and it will tone your arms as well.
Holding the bottles just as if they were weights, lengthen out through the top of your head, tummy, pelvic floor, gently. Breathe out as you lift. Breathe in as you lower.
That was fly's. This is bench press. Breathe out.
Breathe in. Although they don't weigh very much, it's sufficient to give yourself a good workout and good form. You can handle the weight keeping your body very centered.
We can use the scarf for the hamstring stretch. Tummy, pelvic floor, breathing out, heel comes off the floor. Float your toe off the floor.
Float the knee to the ceiling. Wrap the scarf around your foot. Flex the foot, straight knee.
Keep your bottom on the floor. Relax here. Make sure you haven't tilted your pelvis.
Let this relax down. Keep it down, and bring the leg as high as you can, keeping your bottom on the floor. Lowering the leg a little, switching off the stretch, and then lifting the leg and you get more and more stretch, but do keep the bottom down.
Floating the leg down, tummy, pelvic floor, breathing out, toes, and heel, and those are a few quick exercises to help you do Pilates at home. .
