In this short instructional video, Andrew Jose, of Andrew Jose Salon in London, shows you how easy it is to make pin curls.
Hello. My name's Andrew Jose, of Andrew Jose Salon, in Charlotte Street, London. How To Pin Curl Hair.
The hair must be wet, and although not dripping, it does have quite a lot of water in it. You then use clear gel. Be careful to choose a gel like JLife Overhead gel that will not flake as it dries.
Work this through the hair. You see, I just put in on my comb to see that the gel is evenly distributed right the way through the hair. Then take a one inch, or a two centimeter section, and you comb down.
So I'm working into the hair line at this time, so work into the hairline. I turn, pull the hair into a point, making sure that I bring in any of the little short ends. I turn the hair in on itself, then I turn and I wrap, until I have a curl that sits on the base of the section of the hair itself.
Then take your pin curl clip, which is like this, which has a prong and then a support at the front. I come down and I clip the curl in place. And to repeat the section, again I comb down, working right into the hairline, making sure all the little short pieces are brought in.
I turn the hair back on itself, and so I form a circle. Obviously, the smaller the circle, the tighter the curl. I turn that in, making sure the ends are in all the time, until it sits onto the section itself.
And again, come through, and clip. That's how you do a pin curl.
