Step 1: Widen Your Stance
Another variation of a squat is to do a plie squat with an upright row, which is what I'll show you right now. What you're going to do: wide, wider than normal stance, feet pointed diagonally out.
Step 2: Squat With Weights
Holding the weights, palms facing in, the weights in the middle. You're going to plie squat down. As you come up, row the weights up into an upright row, keeping them close together, elbows not going above the shoulders.
Step 3: Controlled Squats
And back down, and up. Keeping your back straight, abs tight, your weight is in your heels, slow and controlled. When you row it up you should feel it in your shoulders and upper back. Breathing exhale, inhale. Good. So it's one fluid movement as you're squatting down. Good. Two more. One, two. Keep those weights close to your body as you raise them up. And when you're done, put them together.
