How To Do Ponytail Updos
In this short video, you can learn how to use your own hair to cover that unsightly hairband. In a few simple steps, you can take your ordinary ponytail into extraordinary.
Today, I will show you how to do variations of a ponytail. I've prepared my model's hair into high ponytail which you can see in my other video. Now, using hair from underneath, we will wrap the hair around the hairband, hiding the hairband completely and creating catwalk effect ponytail.
When you wrap the hair around tightly, secure the end of the hair using a grip, a curvy grip ideally in the color of the hair. So for this model, I'm using a gold kind of color. Try to use two curvy grips and make sure they cross each other as that will secure it in the cross.
So, position the grips in the hair, crossing each other, for that way, you double secure it. Another way, how to hide the hairband, is to create plait from your hair. Again, take a section from the bottom of your ponytail and create a simple plait.
Make sure all the sections are clean before you start. Taking a section from underneath the ponytail, divide the section into three. Make sure each one is clean so your work is smoother.
Cross each other, crossover sections towards the middle, always from the outside towards the middle. Now, we're creating a loose plait. Pull sides of the plait, holding the plait on the bottom.
This will create the covering for the hairband wider. Using a see-through hairband, we secure the plait. Now, just wrap it around the ponytail so it's nice and tight.
Using two curvy grips, secure the bottom of the ponytail so it's tight and again, we put it in a cross so they are tight. And this is how you create another version of the ponytail. .
