Hello. I'm Zoe from South London Dance Studios in Herne Hill, and my students are going to demonstrate some ballet movements. We're going to show you how to do small ballet jumps.
So, starting with sautes in first, Maddie's going to show us four sautes in first. And, one and two and three and four. So, she's doing a demi-plie in first position, making sure her knees are pushing out over her toes, and making sure her back is straight and her arms are held, and she's going to spring up into the air, pushing the floor away, and, stretch! And let's try one more, and, stretch! And she lands in the same position that she started.
Good recover. Nandy's going to show us a spring to second, and then back to first. And, out, in, out, in.
And same thing as Maddie, she does a demi-plie in first position keeping her back straight and her knees pushing out over her toes. She jumps to second, and, stretch, landing in a plie in second position, with the thighs pushed out over the toes, the back straight, and the arms held, and then she jumps back into first position. And! And recover.
So, she ends where she started with her demi-plie. And then moving on to Georgia, Georgia is going to show us changement, which means "change." So she's starting in third position, and she does a demi-plie in third position, then she's going to spring into the air and change legs.
Go. And recover. So, when she does her demi-plie in third position, her back is straight, her arms are held in demi-bras, and all of that needs to stay still as she jumps and pushes the floor away.
Go! One, two, and three, and four, and recover. Good. Tash is going to show us a soubresaut, and that is a jump in third position and it doesn't change feet, and when she jumps in the air she's going to cling her legs together tightly.
Let's see four. And, one and two and three and four. And let's try the other leg.
So she pushes the floor away and jumps as high as she can, keeping her arms still and holding her posture. And, one and two and three and four, and recover. Now we can put together these small steps in an enchangement, so we start in first position.
In first position, we'll do two sautes in first, and one and two, then we'll do one jump to second and back to first, three, four, then we'll do a changement, bringing the right foot in front, and a soubresaut, and another changement, and another soubresaut. Good. Let's go back to first position, and just do that once through.
Ready? Demi-plie, and, one and two and three and four, five, six, seven, eight. Let's try one more time. Ready? Plie, and, one and two and three and four, five and six and seven and eight.
And recover. If you want to find out more information about our ballet classes or our other classes, tap, modern, and street jazz, please visit our website. .
