How To Do Snowboard Tricks
This is a very inspirational learning video that gives you the vital steps in learning snowboarding tricks. So, watch the video and then go out there and have fun.
I am going to talk you through how to learn snowboard tricks. The key when learning freestyle snowboarding is to start off with a good platform and that platform is your riding technique. If you're not a strong rider and your riding technique isn't perfect, get some tuition or help with that because everything you do is based on your riding technique.
Once you're confident with your riding technique, you must start to form the building blocks to freestyle. The first thing that you need to learn is how to Ollie. This is what gets you air, what can get you onto obstacles, over obstacles, and is the start of your freestyle fun.
It's an important technique to learn and it won't come naturally straight away. You have to put a bit of practice in, so you get out what you put in. Once you've mastered the Ollie, it's time to start to learn some 180's.
By learning 180's, you have the component part through the 360's. So, what you'll do is start off learning 180's. Once you are confident with front side, backside, cab and switch backside, you can then start trying to move small obstacles, small rollers and once again, once your confident with that, you can take them onto kickers, etc.
Once you're confident with the 180's, then it's time to move onto trying a small kicker. On your small kicker, the key thing you need to be working on is popping off the kicker. By popping off the kicker, you gain control of your airtime.
So, once you are in control of your air, you can then start working on your grabs. There are many grabs, I am not going to go through them now, if you are interested in grabs, do your research. Look it up on the internet, look at all the different things that people can do.
All the footage is there as you can tell, because you are already watching stuff now. With freestyle snowboarding, you have to put the work in if you want to get the rewards. Not everyone has natural talent like Jamie Nichols.
Some of us have to work at it. The key thing if you want something is to practice, practice, practice, not just practice making a mistake. If something isn't working, think, why isn't it working and change it.
You have to learn yourself, these things don't just happen. You really have to think about your riding. If you got the motivation and you put the effort in and you are interested enough in your sport, then you will progress and progression equals fun.
That's where the most satisfaction comes from. That is how to do snowboard tricks.
