How To Do Split Stitch

This is a simple but helpful tip on how to do a split stitch very easily and also guides you on the proper needle size to avoid difficulty.

Hi! My name is Aliza from Seam So Easy, www.seamsoeasy.com.

I have been sewing for fifteen years and today, I am going to show you some tips. The split to choose against a decorative stitch but you can also use it to attach something. So coming up where you want just stitch to be form your stitch, come up between your embroidery floss.

So this one has two strands double lets four strands, come up in between, and split your thread into wear glasses if you need to. That's your split stitch. And you use that as a decorative stitch as well, which is also a fill stitch.

So, for hand embroidery, so whatever the number of the skin of thread you use, what you need to do is just come up in between that half number. So if you have four like I have here, so it's too double, not doubled, you've come up in between two but if you were using a much thicker, you could use three which would give you six stitches, so you come up in between that half which is three. To finish off, switch under and knock it off.

There you have the split stitch, okay. .
