Tim is demonstrating 3 acupressure techniques. The 3 techniques that are performed are done on her inner wrist. This region is known as large intestine 4.
Acupressure works with acupressure points. Acupressure points respond to different techniques. So, if you want to have a different effect with acupressure points, then you need to apply different techniques to achieve that effect.
So, we have a willing volunteer and we're going to work with just a very common point that does a lot of things. Large intestine 4. So, large intestine 4 has a lot properties that can be very useful in the general treatment of aches and pains, colds and flu.
So, if we want to use it to work with coughs and colds or flu, then we want to work with the point, a technique that will disburse the points. We want to pinch, point, lift, release, pinch, lift, release. If we want we can put a little twist in there as well, after the pinch.
Pinch, twist, release. We want to do this for about 3 or 4 minutes. This is particularly very good for when you have sore throats, aches and pains, slight fever.
Now, if someone has a headache, what we can also do is stimulate the points with a little more friendly stimulation, so we can use rougher. Rougher is going to be, press into the points using circular techniques where we move the skin. This could also be good for any kind of headache, head pain, face pain.
The last technique we are going to do is (anfar), which is pressing. So, this is a very nice, simple technique, and can be very useful for stress relief. So, if you just press into the points and hold it, and what you can do is come out and press in.
Come out and press in. And that can be a very nice way to stimulate the points in a calm relaxing way. Very good for tension in the neck and shoulders.
