How To Do The Graffiti Letter H
Graffiti is a beautiful creative art and in this video, you will learn how to draw a graffiti style H. Watch as he shows you how to draw an H along with explaining why it is important to keep the details high up and visible to the reader.
Hello, this is Julian from Graffiti Kings London and we're going to take you through the letter "H". So let's start this "H," shall we? "H" is basically two lines with a little drawing in the middle. You can get really fruity with it by let's say, similarly to the "A" or you can add a little flow, could have it with a little bit of space so it isn't just the two letters.
Same thing I like to keep the drawing higher, just get a little license to flow it down. Or if you go lower case, just depending on what letter you would put next to it, you basically got your vertical line then you've got your line curving down but only keep it block, keep it capital. It's an "H," it's not a "Z" or an "S".
Obviously, the way you do it, if you've got your vertical lines coming toward each other, then you have to have it not looking like an "A". So, we'll keep it so you have two definite towers standing on either side connected with a little bridge. Alright, let's get started on the "H".
Same thing like to give it just a little bit of detailing at the top, little seraph at the top there. Then we have another tower, same thing, I don't want my letters to be too straight, just a little bend on it, just a little, keep the whole front end a little bit of italic, it might be because I'm just right-handed, it's naturally just going to flow that way. But let's just flow with it.
So this one is quite, it's going to be relatively vertical, this is what makes it a bit more curved, and then I might say you can finish it any way you want. I'm going to just cut mine with a little chisel angel there, then give this a little flick, then just put my separator, put my little bridge keep it high in the letter. When I do a letter, I always like to keep almost like the bits of the letter that define that letter, it might be just that.
Keep it high up in the letter almost like when you get in really ornate creative color schemes and stuff you normally put the weight at the bottom, so almost like keep the detail quite high up. Almost like a thread of visibility, as I said, the bits of the letter that make it distinct, it's all quite high, so if anyone reads straight left to right, there's no confusion. But yet again, "H" to me is one of those letters that I don't want to over busy, I don't want to over-complicate it, you know, just be an "H".
You can put all the little bits in it to make it more as if it was like a word style but no, just be here, just two lines and a little line. And yet again, because I don't just like straight letters, it's just the flow; it's just like a retro style flow. Hopefully, that's the "H". .
