Step 1: Equipment

That's right. Alicia takes a bullet for our Hollywood gunshot blood effect. First, pick up a cheap garden sprayer at your local store, and you're going to want about three feet of clear tubing. You'll also need a small hose clamp, a cork, and a small piece of sponge--that's going to be Alicia's guts. And, of course, some fake blood. I made some out of arrowroot, water, some children's nontoxic paint, and some red food coloring.

Step 2: Assemble The Equipment

Now, attach one end of the tubing to the garden sprayer. Using the hose clamp, make sure it's nice and tight so no air escapes. Now you need to cut a mangled hole on the other end of the tubing, about an inch from the end. Now, pour about two ounces of the fake blood into the tubing, seal it with the cork. Make sure the cork is on nice and tight. Then take some small pieces of sponge and close up that mangled hole.

Then, after you find an old shirt that you really don't care about anymore, you want to cut a small hole right where you want the gunshot to appear. Then, using gaffer's tape, tape the hose to the inside of the shirt and line it up with the hole you cut in the front.

Step 3: Build The Pressure

Now, you need to pump the garden sprayer a good 150-200 times to build up enough pressure for this effect. And, the end result... Alicia takes a bullet. The Hollywood gunshot effect.
